Title:Redmon Foldable Bassinette
Purpose of the Design: The Redmon foldable bassinet is a redesign
of the traditional bassinet. Redmon has been making bassinets for
over 100 years. Their design has changed little since 1949. The traditional
design requires a labor-intensive assembly process and is bulky when
finished. The foldable bassinet is a significant improvement over
the traditional design. It reduces assembly costs, since it is made
of only four large plastic parts, casters and a fabric liner. It takes
considerably less shelf space in the stores, and reduces shipping
and packaging costs for the manufacturer. The all cotton liner is
attached to the frame with short ties so that they can be easily removed
for washing. These ties allow for assembly without tools. |
